The biotope includes the southern cove of the Lake of Lases, with reed thickets(Phragmitetum australis) and vast huge sedge fields(Caricetum elatae) and the Palú Redont which is a peat-bog of transition, with the association called Caricetum lasiocarpae. The Lona-Lases includes the valle Giulia, a small valley with damp meadows (Lysimachio-Filipenduletum) and overlooking the lake, and another small valley with the so-called "Buche di ghiaccio" (ice sinkholes). This area has a particular microclimate with the emission of cold blasts at the basis of vast porphyritic detritus that causes the thermal inversion of the vegetation. |
