The Operator guarantees that their structure is barrier-free, with: 1) Parking lots with parking spaces near the entrance, and wider than normal, reserved for people with reduced mobility. 2) Wide and regular external path, with possible ramps at least 90 cm wide and maximum slope of 5%. 3) Entrance with door at least 90 cm wide. 4) Spacious reception, without carpets or rugs that make the passage difficult. 5) Wide corridors, or with maneuvering areas for people in wheelchairs. 6) Regular and homogeneous stairs, with comfortable handrails at a height of about 1 meter. 7) Elevators with cabin at least 140 cm deep and 110 cm wide, with a side-sliding door of at least 80 cm. 8) Rooms located on the ground floor or in the immediate vicinity of an elevator, with an access door at least 80 cm wide. 9) Large bathrooms, with sliding door or opening door to the outside, open shower or equipped with a shower box with an opening greater than 70 cm.

Casa al Frassen in Val Canzoi

Casa Al Frassen is closed, due to its inaccessibility following the damage caused by the flood in October 2018. For further information please contact the Park Authority.

In the year 2000, the Park purchased from ULSS 2 of Feltre over 700 hectares of meadows, woods, and rock faces in Val Canzoi. The estate goes from the 750 meters of the bottom of the valley to the 2,547 meters of Sass de Mura, the highest summit of Cimonega group.
Within the estate, one of the most valuable areas of the Park for its landscape and environment, there is the lodge "Al Frassen": a three-storey house dating back to the first half of the 20th century. After the purchase, the Park renovated the building and transformed it into a guest house for hikers and an environmental education center dedicated to groups of students, organized groups, and associations.
This building, like all the other ones built or renovated by the Park, has been recovered thanks to the "Fossil Free" project, according to which only renewable energy sources should be used within the protected area. For this reason, the electric energy necessary in the guest house is produced by photovoltaic solar panels placed on the roof and by a generator working with bio-diesel; the heating system works thanks to a biomass boiler.

Accommodation

The Park's lodge offers 22 beds, divided into 3 rooms (two of them have 5 beds, while the other has 12 single beds and/or bunk beds), an equipped kitchen, a small classroom for educational activities, a large dining room with fireplace, and toilets.

How to Reach Casa Al Frassen
By Car: Highway A27 to Belluno, then in the direction of Feltre until you reach Santa Giustina, turn to Cesiomaggiore and go ahead until you reach loc. Soranzen, where you will take Val Canzoi (road signs). Continue along the valley until you reach the car park before the bar-restaurant "Ai quattro pass".
By Train: Feltre and Belluno, the nearest towns, are served by the railway line Padova-Montebelluna-Feltre-Belluno-Calalzo also with a bike transport service. Belluno is connected with Venice also by the line Venice-Treviso-Conegliano-Ponte nelle Alpi-Belluno. Train timetable
By Bus: From Feltre and Belluno, the line Dolomitibus no. 17 gets to the stop in Soranzen, at about 8 km from the house, not served by public transport service. Bus timetable
