| The guide begins with a map of the Park, followed by a short description of the Park Authority and by the directions to reach it. Then readers will find a list of structures and services and some advices every mountain hiker would like to receive. The volume also offers a general description of the Park's geomorphology and environment: its conformation, the plant and animal species characterizing it and the description of the three areas into which the Park is usually divided: the Subequana and Aterno Valleys, the Rocche plateau and the Marsica. The guide also describes the municipalities of the Park, their origins and their history.
