Scientific research activities and degree theses
Adamello Brenat Park has always had among its priorities the conservation of the Brown Bear, a species which has become an important symbol.
In order to save this animal from a certain extinction (in the 1990s only three specimens remained in the Central Alps), the Park has started the project "Life
Ursus" (Safeguard of the Brown Bear Population in Brenta), releasing 10 bears coming from Slovenia. This publication was born from the need to inform the people committed to the project about the acquired scientific knowledge and make the Park residents understand its importance: the book presents some scientific research activities carried out within the project.
