Biology and ecology of the Chiropters living in Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero Park
Chiropters are a very important group of mammals including several
species (as a matter of fact, about 1/4 of the mammal species in the
world belong to it), almost all characterized by a non-favorable
conservation level.
According to the Community regulations, all the
European species of bats are listed among the "species of Community
interest requiring a strict protection" and many of them are considered
"species of Community interest whose conservation requires the
establishment of special conservation areas".
