The museum "In Herbis salus" was named after the agronomist
Giovanni Alessandri from Cosio d'Arroscia, who after graduation as agricultural technician obtained at the Sant'Ilario di Genova Agricultural Institute joined the team of the itinerant desk of the Agruculture of Porto Maurizio. Great expert on olive tree cultivation and viticulture he specialized in medicinal plants at the school of important masters, and as a master he became part of the Committee of the Small Businesses of Porto Maurizio, until he became a provincial herbalist.
He held many courses on the medicinal plants in mountain huts or special tents created by himself to study the most interesting specimens in their habitats. He had the idea to realize experimental fields cultivated with medicinal plants for the production of perfumes in the territory of Cosio d'Arroscia, with a
prevalence of lavender which is a typical plant of the Maritime Alps, and of Bulgarian Rose.
