From the Mountain Hut, the old military road crossing the large plateau of Valasco heads towards high summits and granite slides to reach Terme di Valdieri, with their big hotel and the chalet of Bela Rosìn which, according to the tradition, Vittorio Emanuele II used to peacefully spend his nights of love.
The uphill trail leading towards Morelli Mountain Hut is a paved snake developing among centuries-old larches: when the tree curtain opens, one of the most beautiful settings of Marittime appears: the northern wall of Corno Stella and the extraordinary ice slide of Lourousa gully.
