Around the mountain hut, the ground is scattered with rocks: huge gray or reddish blocks the mule track crosses to lead you to Colle del Chiapous.
The uphill stretch is dominated by the imposing Mt. Stella, with its impressive wall and its 1,000m of difference in height.
On the opposite slope of the hill, the downhill stretch has a south-eastern exposure and is therefore almost "Mediterranean", with the fragrance of thyme characterizing the area and, under the trekking shoes, the huge blue stretch of the artificial basin of Chiotas.
