The area "dei Fortini" above Limone s/G. is still a not very known place, and only during the weekends you can find groups of people coming from the valley bottom to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of these places. This tour is interesting not only for the wonderful views it offers of Garda and Ledro lakes and of the mountain groups of Adamello and Brenta, but also for the ruins of buildings and trenches of World War I along the border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austro-Hungarian empire you will find scattered throughout the area. The itinerary leaves from via Caldogno in Limone, you will follow to take then a dirt road leading to the bar "La Milanesa". Cross the bridge on torrent San Giovanni and, following trail marker no. 101, enter Singolo valley by going along a steep mule track. Go ahead along the valley until you will find a bridge to cross. With a series of bends, go uphill and pass by "Madonnina del Mürel" situated in a rock hollow, and reach the junction of Ranzo where you will abandon the mule track (which with trail marker no. 103 leads to malga Dalò ai Prè) and take the trail on the right, always with trail marker no. 101. Go uphill with a series of bends passing under the ridge of Sughera peak. Here, with a short detour, you will have the possibility to reach the summit where you will enjoy a wonderful panorama of Limone, Garda Lake, Mt. Baldo, and the valley you have followed. The trail continues and, near the bird snare of Nembra, at a war cave, it meets trail no. 422 coming from Pregasina (Riva d/G.). Go ahead now on the left passing by other war ruins and reach Guil Pass, where you will find the mule track coming from Prè, in val di Ledro, marked with no. 421, you will have to follow westwards. Follow the road going round the foot of the rocky Punta di Mois and, leaving on the right the ramp leading to the mountain church, you will reach Baita Segala which, situated in a panoramic position, enjoys the view of the valley and Garda Lake. At this point, you can also carry out the tour of the small forts on Mt. Carone. For the return journey, the shortest way follows trail no. 104 that from Baita Segala goes quickly downhill towards Dosso della Ravizzola. After a hairpin bend, it meets for a short stretch trail no. 103 you will follow downhill until you reach the junction Ranzo. Follow downhill trail marker no. 101 along val Salumi and then Singol valley, following the outward itinerary backwards.
