The Via Appia Antica, starting from Piazzale Numa Pompilio (Porta Capena) and ending at Frattocchie/Santa Maria delle Mole, stretches for about 16 km.
There are countless historical and archaeological testimonies along this road axis, known since ancient times as "Regina Viarum", the queen of roads.

To help the discovery of the Appia Antica - given the route length - it has been divided into three large sections:

• From Porta Capena to the Tomb of Cecilia Metella
• From the Tomb of Cecilia Metella to the Mausoleum of Casal Rotondo
• From the Mausoleum of Casal Rotondo to Frattocchie/Santa Maria delle Mol
