A nature park is an ideal place to carry out didactic activities dealing with ecological issues, strategies for the conservation of nature and the promotion of sustainable development, and to preserve the knowledge about the local traditions and the historical-cultural values of a territory.
The environmental education has the noble aim to direct the personal conscience towards a future in which the traces of man will harmoniously blend with the balance of the natural systems. The existence of the protected areas is the evidence of the will to reach this kind of sustainable future, by preserving and enhancing the value of precious elements of the natural world and to rediscover man and his traditions, which are part of it.
In the context of the national system of protected areas, Parco Naturale Regionale del Beigua represents an inexhaustible reservoir of ideas and suggestions for the creation of didactic and educational activities.
The educational structures of Parco del Beigua - privileged seats where promotional, sensitization, and environmental education activities are planned and suggested - work within the educational network of Liguria, in connection with the Environmental Education Regional Center - C.R.E.A. Liguria, with the Environmental Education Provincial Centers of Genova and Savona, the Environmental Education Center of the Parks of Liguria and with all the other Environmental Education Centers belonging to Sistema Ligure di Educazione Ambientale and the National System of INFEA.
Since its establishment (1996), the Park Authority has been working to provide initiatives aimed at drawing young generations nearer the knowledge of the territory, by offering them the evaluation and learning instruments of the complex system of environmental and cultural resources.
To this aim, a direct contact has been established both with the world of school and with the other subjects involved in information, communication, and environmental education activities (through synergic actions experimented in collaboration with structures belonging to the Regional Center of Environmental Education of Liguria, but also with other subjects, such as MUVITA, COOP Liguria, the Municipalities and Comunità Montane within the boundaries of the protected area).
More in general, the activities tend to promote a didactic exploitation of the territory through a cooperative and collaborative methodology by establishing relationships between different resources and subjects, building a useful network leading to a planning which aims at the training and the education towards environment and sustainability.
The local environmental education system in Parco del Beigua consists not only of Centro di Esperienza situated in the administrative headquarters of the Park Authority (in Arenzano), where you can receive information on the various visiting opportunities and services. The structure is provided with a library dedicated to environmental issues and multimedia structures illustrating the local features of Parco del Beigua; moreover, there are equipped spaces to welcome educational workshops, training activities, seminars, meetings, etc.
The Visitor Center of Villa Bagnara (in Masone) is dedicated to the issue of the "products of the earth" and leads to the discovery of the traditional production activities carried out in the Park valleys through images, multimedia material, panels, video and sound reconstructions.

Visiting the Center, you can receive information on the Park and its resources, the small products of the wood, the economy of the chestnut tree wood, the trail of milk, the Ornithological and Environmental Education Center situated in location Case Vaccà, in Arenzano, where scientific research, publication, and environmental education activities are carried out. The Center collects, interprets, and re-elaborates naturalistic data used in the territorial planning and management strategies.
The Visitor Center of Palazzo Gervino, in Sassello environmental education activities and local animation are organized; here you will find the "Information and Tourist Welcome Office", as well as an exhibit dedicated to the geology and geomorphology of Beigua Geopark; the Information Point "Bruno Bacoccoli", in location Prariondo (Cogoleto) is situated at 1,100 m a.s.l. in the heart of the Park and is open in summer (from June to September). It provides tourist info on the territory of Beigua and houses a collection of minerals and an interesting geological garden.
The Info Point "Banilla", in Tiglieto, houses activities of local animation and provides information on the various tourist opportunities offered by the Park and upper Valle Orba in particular. It houses a permanent exhibit dedicated to the woodland.
In addition, as a further support to the different local educational and animation activities, there are the different Museums situated in the Park Municipalities, as well as the structures dedicated to the discovery of the floristic and vegetal biodiversity: the Botanic Gardens of Villa Beuca (in the Municipality of Cogoleto), the Mountain Botanic Gardens of Pratorondanino (in the Municipality of Campo Ligure), the Regional Forest Nursery Pian Nicola e Canneti (in the Municipality of Masone).
