Characteristics: this path is dedicated to the botanical aspects of the territory
This is the 'historic' thematic itinerary of the Beigua Park which was established in 1992 by the Giovo Mountain Community and is now managed by the Park Authority. The trail departs from the convent's square and winds for 2.3 km within the ruins of the walls of the ancient monastery. The nature value of the trail lies in the opportunity to cross a wide range of extremely different environmental typologies. On the one hand this is due to the climate aspects of this area, which allow typically Mediterranean species to live near trees that are typical for the mountain forests, on the other hand it depends on the vegetational composition of the territory that has been deeply modified by the centuries-old human presence.
