Mt. Ceva is the highest summit in the group of hills surrounding the trail known as Horseshoe ("Ferro di Cavallo"), which separates the Battaglia Terme plain and the municipality of Montegrotto Terme. Its south-facing slope, in particular, has interesting geological features, with very exposed, south-facing volcanic rocks (latite). Natura 2000 Network lists this habitat as "Rupicolous calcareous or basophilic grasslands of the Alysso-Sedion albi"; this area is one of Colli Euganei's richest in biodiversity.
