Teolo (PD)
The origins of this fortress, whose remains are still clearly visible by the top of Rocca Pendice, are unknown, but it kept its military function for a long time. Around the mid-12th century, the Bishop of Padua gave it to Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, who returned it to the bishop after only a few years. Legend has it that Speronella Dalesmanini, who became a symbol of municipal freedom, was imprisoned here.
