Viale S. Elena - Battaglia Terme
The historical complex of Villa Selvatico - started in 1593 on orders from Bartolomeo Selvatico and finished in 1650 - is stylistically quite unique, as it foreruns the standards of Venetian Baroque, mixing Medieval and oriental architecture in original ways. The richly decorated and frescoed Salone Nobile features frescoes by Luca Ferrari da Reggio (1650) and, at the centre, an octagonal painting by Alessandro Varotari, known as Padovanino, celebrates the splendour of the Selvatico family.
