Frequently hidden amid the large clouds arriving up from Tuscany, the mountain pass, marked by another boundary stone, was once referred to as the Mandromini Pass, because it delimited the pastures of the Grand Dukes' farms, which were located lower down.
The pass provides yet another vantage point for the Corno's "steps" and one can admire the expanding mountain ridge, which continues north to Mount La Nuda and the other mountain peaks marking the western limits of the Silla upper valley.
