Parco Naturale del Fiume Sile

The hydrochronometer is a clock using water as source of energy to start the mechanism that marks the time. Vitruvius's water clock was considered more reliable than a hourglass, and it had military functions. It is mentioned by Roberto Valturio in his De re militari (1472).
