| The festivals held in Cusano Mutri are famous: the Local Products and Mushrooms Festivals take place respectively at the beginning and at the end of the summer. The Chestnut Festival is an autumn event taking place in Civitella Licinio. September is characterized by the famous festivals of Massa di Faicchio. In Castello Matese summer means celebrations: in August the town is animated by medieval jousts and festivals. In the same period, on 15th August, the ancient tastes characterize Gioia Sannitica: dishes are exclusively prepared by local restaurants. Summer is characterized by celebrations also in Letino, where the Cheese Festival and Ferragosto Letinese take place, while Raviscanina is animated by the Corn-Cob Festival. History and traditions are celebrated with the famous flower carpets of Cusano Mutri, coloring the roads and alleys of the town center in the Corpus Christi Day. At the end of June, Faicchio houses Palio della Quintana. At the beginning of September, Fontegreca houses Madonna dei Cipressi Feast and on 26th December Santo Stefano Feast, with a procession of barefooted believers. And again: in April, the Spring Festival in Piedimonte Matese; Ferragosto Valligiano in Valle Agricola; in September, Cerretese Summer in Cerreto Sannita. Further info (Italian text) |
