The trail of Morandi comprises localities and landscapes you can also find in the works of this great painter and engraver from Bologna.
Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964) had a long and intense relationship with this land. He was on holiday in Grizzana during summer in 1913, at the Casa Veggetti ("The villa of the thin poplars") where he saw these landscapes, the medieval villages, the rural houses, the forests and the open spaces for the first time. In the same period he also realized the first etching dedicated to this place entitled "Colline di Grizzana", and later the one entitled "Paesaggio con galleria".
