The itinerary leading from Gambarie to Garibaldi Mausoleum is called Sentiero Rosso (red trail marker, no. 209, it takes five hours back and forth). It is an easy path crossing pine and beech woods, which sometimes give way to clearings dominated in summer by the green color of ferns and by the yellow color of brooms. Along the way there are many streams and springs. The path starts from SS road 183, near Gambarie, and goes down crossing the "fiumara" Saltolavecchia and arriving near Piano Vadi. From here you go slowly down until you reach Serra Petrulli, a centuries-old pinewood where the soldiers of Piemonte wounded Garibaldi and where today in the Mausoleum some relics are preserved to celebrate the hero. About one kilometer far from there, there are a number of restaurants.
