Samo - Precacore - Gole La Verde - Palecastro

The ring-route Samo - Precacore - Gole la Verde - Palecastro is very interesting from the historical-naturalistic point of view and it takes 3-4 hours of walk. From Samo, reach the bridge of Santa Caterina, cross it, and climb up to the fountain of the Rocca; then, take the path on the left leading to the ruins of Precacore. Reach the little church of San Giovanni and go ahead through woods and Mediterranean maquis in the direction of Giulia. You will reach the plateau of Molia and then the spur of the rocks "Prachi" and "Timpa di don Prazzito"; from here you can admire the gorges of the "fiumara" La Verde. Then, come back and follow the mule track leading to Palecastro. From here, take the carriage road descending to the valley Santa Caterina, and go on through the asphalt road arriving in Samo.
