Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio
Nationalpark Stilfserjoch

It is situated in Santa Geltrude country hamlet, in upper Ultimo valley. The center has been obtained from a renovated Venetian sawmill (now perfectly working), where tree trunks were cut into boards by using the energy produced by the water of Rio Valsura.
In the building adjacent to the sawmill there is a permanent multimedia exhibit on wood and timber.

Also the nearby mill works with water. Recently renovated, it transforms wheat into flour.

• Guided hikes. In particular, and by previous booking, to the millennia-old larches near Santa Gertrude. They are deemed to be Europe's oldest conifers, they have seen dozen upon dozen of human generations, and can well be considered symbols of nature's will to survive.
