The Museum, situated at 1,900m of altitude, tells about ice, glaciers, South Pole, North Pole, men of the snow and, in particular, the big mountains of ice of which Ortles is symbolically the center: at its foot, the exhibit.
Planned by Reinhold Messner, it belongs to the museum project dedicated by the famous mountaineer to the mountains and its cultures, and includes further four museums: MMM Firmian, MMM Juval, MMM Dolomites, and MMM Ripa.
