Born in 2003 on the initiative of a group of history-lovers, the museum is called "Peio 1914-1918: la guerra sulla porta" ("Peio 1914-1918: The War at the Door"). It represents a touching account of the everyday life of the soldiers at the front and of the people behind the lines.
As a matter of fact, the expression "war at the door" would like to draw the attention on the fact that the war involved a whole community and upset its life. The small building preserves arms, uniforms, equipment, and personal objects.
The aim of the exhibit is to describe the historical events exactly as they took place and, considering the causes generating them, recovering a deep sense of aversion towards violence and the war.
