Over the centuries, Malesco has been the most populous village in the Vigezzo Valley. Its origins probably date back to prehistoric times and from the Roman period have been found: tombs, furnishings and the pavement of an ancient road. The Vigezzo architectural tradition also finds in this municipality a confirmation of its elegant beauty, while the frescoes of Giovanni Valtorta in the parish church and the paintings of Giuseppe Maria Borgnis at the Gabbio oratory, remind us that we are in the "Vally of the Painters". The nearby Valle Loana is also among the most popular destinations for those who want to make excursions in the Val Grande National Park.
