| The territory of a river crossing big urban centers is far from the idea of a "nature park" reminding of huge woods, white peaks, and wild animals. Nevertheless the Park was established to protect the area from the wild urbanization, the massive cementation of the banks, the pollution of waters, and the upheaval caused by the mining activity. The rivers of the Torinese area belong to nature, to suggestive fluvial landscapes, to the sites for the migration of the avifauna. Here it is still possible to discover the ancient relationship between man and river. Parco del Po was established to protect this precious heritage. |
