It's an hilly-mountainous area south of the town of Lecco. Together with
the regional parks of Monte Barro, Adda Nord and Montevecchia it protects
an heritage of green and history that has well been preserved in Brianza.
The park belongs to the pre-Alpine area and mostly contains hills which
present very interesting country-historical characteristics: woods , sowable
lands and terracings with grape and mulberry alternate. Many rests testify
a flourishing, rural culture; in every town of the crest, near the houses,
there are old stables with stone barns and some common spaces like wash-houses,
ovens for bread and old taverns.
An important rest of a religious culture is the Eremo di S. Genesio, which
was built in 960 a. d. |
