Frassati Trail
Make the image bigger
The Trail was named after Pier Giorgio Frassati, a young man from Turin who died of poliomyelitis caught while he was helping the needy. CAI and the State Corps of Foresters wanted to dedicate him this trail. It is a ring-route that can also be divided into laps.

From Santa Maria del Bosco, after a steep slope you get to "Pietra Mercata" (1,038 m) where the coat of arms of the Certosa is engraved. After crossing the SP road, take the downhill trail up to Sambuco small lake, and from here go ahead towards Villa Vittoria. Here the most demanding stretch of the itinerary begins: it develops across the woodlands used in the past by Reali Ferriere of Mongiana, along the conduit transporting the waters of the stream Vazzalaro. Once you get near the river, take the uphill trail leading to the plateau of Ninfo. The Trail crosses the biogenetic reserve "Cropani - Micone". Go ahead towards location "Angilaro" in the direction of Serra San Bruno. Once you get to the Museum of Cerosa, after about 18 km from the beginning of the trail, the last stretch of trail leading to Santa Maria del Bosco begins.
