A year with the Sirente Velino Park, the 2024 calendar dedicated to the Amarena bear

The Sirente Velino Park calendar, made from photos granted to the park by Giampiero Cutolo, has an extra meaning this year: that of remembering the Amarena bear, one of its best-known 'tenants', the protagonist of numerous raids in the Sirente Velino Park and Abruzzo National Park.
Among the photos chosen to accompany the 12 months of the year are some shots of the plantigrade that tragically disappeared: images of Amarena with her ever-present cubs. The decision to dedicate the calendar to the Abruzzo's symbolic bear is intended to make all those who leaf through its pages reflect.
The proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be used to purchase and place fruit seedlings in the areas identified through the Life Bear Smart Corridors project, involving local schoolchildren, so as to help increase the trophic resource available to bears in the area.
