I quaderni del Parco - N. 6
On the life and emigration of a family from the Waldensian valleys and its settlement in the Lyon region The author, who was born and lived in France, used indirect testimonies
and fragmentary memoirs to describe, with impassioned words and a
fascinating prose, the usages and custom of his ancestors and to
highlight the difficult conditions in which they carried out their
activities, at the utmost limit of human and environmental
possibilities, since Troncea is situated at 1,915m.
Chapters of great interest are those dedicated to the christening,
childhood, school, family in general, the death of the
great-grandfather. The whole work stresses the pride of Michel Charret
for his rural, mountain, and also Italian origins.
