(Trento, 03 Oct 16) The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is a certification instrument for participatory planning, by which local actors undertake to work towards sustainable tourism, implementing an action plan to further develop it.
The Charter concerns an area pertaining to the municipalities of the Bondone System of Reserves, that is to say, the whole municipalities of Cimone, Garniga Terme, Villa Lagarina, and Vallelaghi, and part of the municipality of Trento.
A core element of the Charter is working in partnership with all actors wishing to develop a common tourism strategy and an action plan, based on a thorough analysis of the local situation. Its purpose is to protect the natural and cultural heritage and to constantly improve tourism management in the protected area, to the advantage of the environment, of the local population, of businesses and visitors.
