Riserva Naturale Integrale Bosco Nordio

Chioggia Radicchio, when it is ripe for commercial purposes, has the characteristic round and compact heart, with a diameter of about 10cm, which sometimes can reach the total weight of over 500 gr. It is characterized by its red color, with bright red leaves, or with green and yellow leaves with more or less evident red, green, yellow, or white stripes. Its average production is very high, and varies, according to the species, between the 120 and 180 quintals for hectare. Thanks to the intense genetic selection it has been subject to, Chioggia Radicchio is available during the whole year.
