Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March 2005
From 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
This year the F.A.I., Italian Fund for the Environment, organizes two days dedicated to the visit of Sacro Monte di Varallo. Thanks to the collaboration with the Reserve, the grates of four chapels - among the most beautiful ones of the Sacred Mountain - will be open during the event. The extraordinary opening of the grates will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy the high artistic quality of these buildings and the works they preserve.
The opening will involve the following chapels:
- Chapel V, The arrival of the Magi, works by Gaudenzio Ferrari
- Chapel XXVII, Jesus for the first time in front of Pilate, works by Tanzio da Varallo
- Chapel XXVIII, Jesus in Herod's Tribunal, works by Tanzio da Varallo
- Chapel XXXIII, Ecce Homo, works by Morazzone
On this occasion, the cableway Varallo-Sacro Monte will be working from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
