It is an ancient mill equipped with a large iron wheel dating back to the 15th century, when these works were the only "industrial" buildings, and therefore considered real public institutions. Its distinctive layout was subsequently used as blueprint for all the other mills built in the area. It was used to grind wheat, barley and chestnuts, and was the third of seven mills (Modello, Domenichino, Còrnola, Mingat, Le Rocche, Nuovo, Managlia), which gave the valley the name of "mill valley".
