Both the African and the Italian staff of the protected areas pay great attention to "environmental education" programs to carry out in the schools at various grades. As a matter of fact, there are already ongoing experiences in "decentralized cooperation" involving some Municipalities of the protected areas and having as protagonists the Italian pupils of kindergartens, elementary, and middle schools, and pupils from Burkinan primary schools: the pupils of the School in Sya, a village in Nazinga Park, sent to the pupils of the Elementary School "Einaudi" in Cuneo an herbarium with the most common plants characterizing their environment and the drawings of each child as an answer to a similar herbarium and to the self-portraits which had been previously sent by the pupils from Cuneo. The latter, happy for the reply, are preparing photos and drawings on the theme of winter, as required by the pupils from Sya. |
