Schutzgebiete Kanadas
Die Nationalparke bilden ein nationales System von Naturgebieten, die die unterschiedlichen Ökosysteme Kanadas darstellen. Diese Gebiete werden gesetzlich zu Lern- und Unterhaltungszwecken für die zukünftigen Generationen geschützt. In Kanada wurden die Nationalparke vor einem Jahrhundert gegründet.
Die Oberleitung der Nationalen Historisch Bedeutsamen Stätten, die zu Parks Canada gehören, ist für das Historische Gedenkprogramm zur Anerkennung von historischen Stätten, Figuren und Veranstaltungen nationaler Bedeutung zuständig. Diese Stätten werden vom Umweltministerium auf Anraten der Kommission für Historische Stätten und Denkmäler Kanadas gegründet.
Die Nationalen Meeresschutzgebiete sind Meeresgebiete, die umweltverträglich verwaltet werden, und kleinere Gebiete umfassen, die streng gechützt sind. Sie umfassen Meerestiefen, Wasser und Wassertierarten. Außerdem umfassen sie auch Feuchtgebiete, Deltas, Inseln und andere Küstengebiete.
