Die Schutzgebiete auf den Philippinen
Die Mission des Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau (PAWB), einer Einrichtung des Bureau of the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of the Philippines, ist die Bewahrung der heimischen Biodiversität durch:
- Gründung, Management und Entwicklung des National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS)
- Bewahrung von Wildlife Ressourcen
- Erziehung zur Naturbewahrung
PAWB wünscht also eine permanente Existenz biologischer und physischer Diversität sowie diverser Bestandteile der Umwelt innerhalb eines Netzes aus Naturschutzgebieten. Ausserdem arbeitet das Bureau für ein zum Nutzen und zur Freude heutiger und zukünftiger Generationen immer stärkeres Umweltbewusstsein der Bevölkerung.
