Registration is open for visiting the Milan Cathedral's Cava Madre in Candoglia
From the Park's peaks to the Cathedral's spires
(Vogogna, 06 May 24) Following the many requests we have been receiving for months from the Park Authority, we are glad to announce that three excursions to the Milan Cathedral's Cava Madre in Candoglia di Mergozzo have been organised even this year.
The first date is set for Thursday 27 June, when you will climb up to the old quarry and the mining village, to discover the most peculiar aspects of marble extraction in the past. It will be an exceptional experience to see with your eyes a unique reality, that few have so far been able to observe. Given the difference in altitude (the old quarry is higher than the one currently in use), this excursion is only suitable for well-trained people. The programme is the same for the date of Thursday 12 September.
On the other hand, the date of Thursday 25 July will take place according to its usual schedule, which can be found in the Park's event section, and will end with a visit to MuMag, the marble and granite museum.
