The Lavazè peat bogs SPA is situated near the mountain pass of the same name and protects two among the main peat bogs of the right slope of the Val di Fiemme respectively called "Becco della Palua" and "La Torba" (or "Selva di Ega"). Due to their location the two peat bogs that once formed two different SCIs have been recently united in one biotope.
The two wetlands are surrounded by pastures, spruces and swiss pines, and they are connected each other through a wood belt. The vertebrate fauna is rich and varied, there are many mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles that populate the area.
