It is a very well-preserved example of mesophilic gorge forests and pre-Alpine thermophilic grasslands, with Botrypus virginianus, present in Italy only here and in Zuc dal Bor. This mountain area has several bird species linked to quite different environments, such as the nesting Landrail (Crex crex) and the Short-toed snake eagle (Circaetus gallicus) during the reproductive period. There is also the Italian agile frog (Rana latastei), the Common frog (Rana temporaria) and the Alpine newt (Triturus alpestris). Crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes) is present in the Colvera Stream, together with European bullhead (Cottus gobio). Hyla (Hyla intermedia) is here mentioned for the particularly high altitude reached on Mount Jôf, where a reproductive population lives at 1100 meters, along with Snail (Helix pomatia).
