Irregular and articulated reliefs between broad valley floors
The importance of the ZSC "Çuc dal Bôr" is evident for its position within the Natura 2000 Network: its presence actually allows the creation of a network of protected areas and the easiest connection between them. It is certain that this site is located in an area of great ecological and faunal interest, located in a transition zone between the pre-Alps and the inland Alps, with wide valleys that ease the presence of species in the river and lowland areas. The harsh and articulated reliefs create a mosaic of environments that reflects on rich and differentiated cenoses, being able to host, in relatively limited areas, species with different origins and chorology. The area has also limited elements of disturbance of anthropic origin and large areas that are particularly wild, such as for example the slopes of Zuc dal Bor and the whole southern sector (Pisimoni-Rio Simon), where many species find suitable conditions throughout the year. In addition to the high degree of biodiversity offered, the area also has a great interest from a biogeographic point of view.
