The ZSC, with an area of 365 hectares, covers the Municipalities of Attimis, Faedis and Taipana and coincides in part with the Italian border. Lerada stream, included in the basin of the Isonzo River, runs along the whole ZSC. In the site there are no inhabited centres, even if on its northern border there is Prossenico, from where an unpaved road starts and cuts longitudinally the ZSC. There is also a road with little traffic that marks the western border. Inside, on the other hand, there are several roads, mainly used for forestry purposes.
