The Pineta di Lignano site covers an area of 118 hectares, delimiting the dune system of the Tagliamento delta in the western part of the most important regional seaside tourist resort. Here there are some spontaneous black pine forests, xeric woodland environments with holm oaks, lean grassland areas, wet shrubs and damp freshwater areas. The ZSC includes a portion of the waters of the Tagliamento mouth.
