The "Colle di Medea" site covers a territorial portion of 41.54 hectares and occupies a portion of the Colle di Medea. This relief stands isolated in the Isonzo plain and is generally considered to be a western appendage of the Karst plateau. It is a carbonate mount, even if thick layers of clay are widespread. This ZSC also includes the south-facing slope with the last karst moorlands and three quarries now fallen into disuse.
