Summit area of the Laga Mountains in a territory belonging to the Marches, it culminates in Macera della Morte (m 2,073), namely a relief with its not very rising  northeastern side and its steep eastern cliff. The lower part of the area includes beech forests, in the locality called "Selva Piana", and nardus pastures in the upper part. Presence of some rare orchid species.
