Besides the 270 hectares of the river protection area regulated by the Provincial Urban Plan, in the Val di Fiemme there are also 205.97 hectares of "river environments of ecological interest" regulated by the General Plan for the Use of Public Waters. These environments are necessary to guarantee the implementation of the river environment's ecological functions. 158.26 hectares of these areas are classified as "ecological river environment of high value", whereas the remaining 47.71 hectares, related to some stretches of buffer belt along the riverbanks (30 ml), are classified as "ecological river environments of not very high value".
