The Avisio torrent is originated by the Fedaia Lake, in the Marmolada Group, at an altitude of 2,053 m above sea level and it flows through the Valleys Fassa, Fiemme and Cembra towards NE-SW up to the confluence with the Adige river, by the built-up area of Lavis (202 m above sea level). This part of the water basin builds about one third of the Avisio torrent's total drainage basin, which covers a surface of about 300 km.
The water stretch included in the project of the Cembra Valley Reserves Network extends from the Stramentizzo barrier, in the municipal territory of Capriana, by the "Ponte dell'Amicizia" (Faver), for a length of about 17 km.
