The olive tree, which was already cultivated by the Etruscans, characterizes the Tuscan landscape together with the cypress tree. It furnishes all the hills of Tuscany. It is widespread not only in the countryside, but also in the town gardens and historical villas. From the olive tree growing in the province of Arezzo it is possible to obtain a very fine oil characterized by scarce acidity, which can without a doubt be considered among the extra-virgin olive oils. Reggello has been regularly and successfully organizing for years the "Oil Fair" and more than once the oil produced in this municipality has been recognized as one of the best extra-virgin olive oils in Italy. Several olive tree varieties are cultivated here: leccino, moraiolo, frantoio, pendolino. There are still several traditional oil mills for the olive pressing. With the new oil, bread with oil or "fettunta" cannot miss on the table.
