A green area with interesting landscape, nature and historical features

The Parco del Basso Corso del Fiume Brembo has been officially recognized by the Province of Bergamo in February, 2005, and it includes a 974-hectares-wide surface along the banks of the river Brembo, in the municipalities of Boltiere, Bonate Sotto, Dalmine, Filago, Madone, Osio Sopra and Osio Sotto.
Within the Park the river flows in a large valley first which is defined by morphological terraces, and then in a canyon dug into the local deposits of conglomerates. The territory consists of many different environments: barren meadows, woods, hedges and woody belts interrupting the agricultural landscape, a small hydrographic network and a series of artificial canals for the water supply to the farmers and to the historic factories. The territory is rich in historic and religious buildings of artistic significance which can be visited by going through the Park's bike-pedestrian lane.
