The Parco Locale di Interesse Sovracomunale (Local Park extending over many municipalities) of the Castello di Zavattarello extends over 79 hectares around the fortress towering above the village and comprises hills, woods and agricultural territories near the center of the built-up area. Thanks to their orographic and geographical position park's landscapes, history and environment gain great significance. The Park aims at improving and introducing people to the natural as well as environmental features of this area, its history and traditions. Park's hill is situated in the centre of a valley system created by the streams Tidone, Morcione and Calghera. The Tidone valley, near the hill where the Castle is situated, widens towards Romagnese and Penice Pass after the narrow gullies of the Trebecco lake.
